Vision Statement

Sunday & Wednesday - Youth Bible Classes

The following outline is scheduled to be implemented beginning May 9th contingent on feedback from the parents at the May 6th Parent’s Meeting.

Sunday AM – (Bryan/adult led bible studies)

Topics:  The topics each week will be based on the Daily Quiet Times (QT) located on the MCoC website under ‘Family Life Ministry’.  The studies vary widely (i.e. Faith, Grace, The Word of God, Discipleship, etc.)

Purpose:  The purpose is to encourage the teens to have a Daily Quiet Time w/ God and each week have a lesson/review on the QT’s they covered.  The QT’s are designed to help the teens developed an intimate relationship with God, equip them for ‘works of service’, provide scriptures to memorize/mediate on and answer questions about faith & life with God.

Class Divisions:  I would like to keep everyone together for the first 1-2 months during the morning class to allow them to spend more time with myself.  Afterwards, we will divide the classes into two groups: High School & Middle School.

Sunday PM – (Devotional)

Topics:  Various teen boys will be asked to give a 10-15 minute lesson/encouragement based on a verse in the bible they personally choose (topics will vary every week).  The remainder of the time will be devoted to worshipping God through singing.  New songs will be taught each week or every other week depending on difficulty.

Purpose:  The purpose of the student led devotional is to train leaders and give the teens the opportunity to worship God independently and in their own style.

Class Divisions:  All the teens will be together.

Wednesday PM – (Student Led Bible Discussion)

Topics:  The topics will be based on a study of books of the bible beginning with Philippians & James.

Purpose:  The purpose of the student led devotional is to train leaders, and create a safe environment for the teens to ask questions & express their opinions.

Class Divisions:  (2 Options) Option 1: All the teens will be together.  Jerrel & Brandon will be co-leaders, and several teen boys will be chosen each week to song lead.  Option 2:  Split between High School & Middle School.  Jerrel & Brandon will co-lead High School group & Emma (with another teen) will lead Middle School group.
