Building and Grounds Ministry

The building and grounds ministry is responsible for maintenance, equipment, and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the property. This is a very important and time consuming work. In addition to making sure the facilities are in working order, volunteers in this ministry area insure that safety and emergency procedures are always in place.

In addition, this ministry takes care of lawn and snow removal equipment and the maintenance of air conditioners, heating systems, plumbing, and emergency fire alarms and sprinkler systems.

Care Ministry

Our care ministry offers many opportunities for service, from sending cards, flowers, and letters to those who are ill and bereaved, to organizing and participating in community efforts such as preparing food at the local homeless shelter, stocking the food pantry or volunteering time in a variety of service areas. There are many areas of service that can be accommodated through this ministry. Everyone needs to be cared for and we continue to serve our Lord and Savior through these actions.

Communication Ministry

The communication ministry is responsible for the flow of information through the church family and out to the community. Areas of service include member input surveys, elder and staff communication processes, effective means of communication the churches mission, vision, and evangelistic outreach purpose.

Other areas of service in this ministry include the development and maintenance of the web-site, coordinating multimedia hardware and software, and the upkeep of the computer learning lab.

Education Ministry

The education ministry at Manchester Church of Christ is one of our largest and has a dramatic impact on our lives as Christians. From developing and writing course curriculums, to teaching and mentoring the congregation, this ministry shines a bright light in our desire to understand, learn, and follow the inspired word of God.

Areas of service include teaching, staffing, and monitoring bible classes and working with the youth group in their development.

Family Ministry

A ministry whose mission is to equip families with tools to strengthen their marriages, aid in divorce recovery, provide guidance in meeting life challenges, aid in parenting, and help their children set spiritual priorities.

Financial Ministry

Developing, proposing, and maintaining budgets is not an easy process. We are blessed to have this ministry where talented and dedicated individuals serve in this important area.

This ministry includes the congregational budget analysis, accounts administration, and financial communication to the church. There are many ways to serve in this ministry and we urge our members to contact the deacons in charge for more information.

Fellowship and Involvement

This ministry coordinates member involvement, new ministry fellowship programs, congregational events and social activities, and athletic involvement.

Generational Ministries

It is important to have ministries that oversee the many different generations that make up our church family. We all have different needs and support and these ministries are important for our Christian development.

Growth Ministry

Our growth ministry measures "vital signs" of our church growth and coordinates communication of these measurements to the leadership of the congregation. In addition, weekly attendance is recorded to allow the leaders of the church to make necessary decisions to accommodate the growth process.

Legal Ministry

The legal ministry provides advice to the elders on all matters involving legal issues, including tax questions, sees that the church corporation is in compliance with all legal requirements, sees that the church’s interests are protected in any legal proceedings (property, suits, taxes), sees that the church is adequately insured for such things as liability, etc. In addition, this ministry coordinates with the building and grounds ministry and reviews the insurance polices for coverage, completeness, etc.

Outreach Ministry

Responsible for maintaining the congregational outreach strategy, and develop and maintaining the sharing ministry team visitor program. In addition, the outreach ministry is responsible for maintaining and updating the church tracts.

The missions support ministry is also placed under the outreach ministry program where we:

• Establish and maintain a mission committee.
• Screen various mission support requests.
• Make recommendations to the elders for those needing our support.
• Promote the mission work that we are doing within our congregation.
• Manage the mission budget and coordinate it with the treasurer and elders.
• Plan events or visit with our mission congregations.
• Meet periodically with our missionaries.
• Organize and plan for missionary speakers to visit our congregation.  Coordinate with the elders and pulpit minister.
• Report results of all special contributions to the Financial ministry.

Worship Ministry

Our worship services and activities take planning and considerable prayer. Areas of service in this ministry include working with the worship team to develop themes, creating worship arrangements such as worship order, staffing for worship participation, training of the men participating in the various functions of the worship service, leading singing, and coordinating the Wednesday night devotional program.
